Fruits & vegetables: salad, zucchini, borage, salentini tomatoes, eggplant, peppers, savoy cabbage, melons, strawberries, beet, basil and carrots (plus whatever else is in season at the moment).
All of the vegetables found at l’Erba Persa are certified organic. This means that Claudio and Grazia use absolutely no pesticides nor chemicals to grow their wonderful products. They instead employ the manure of their animals – rabbits, horses and donkeys – as natural nourishment for their plants. Following a system of crop rotation, each season a different vegetable is planted in each piece of land and a crop can be used for the same vegetable only once every three seasons (years).
About the owners and the place:
Claudio and Grazia have always strongly held the conviction that what you eat should be aided in its growth only by nature: this is why they decided to follow the rules of an organic certification, growing their products as naturally as possible.
They love what they grow because it’s fresh, natural and healthy. One of the things they are most proud of is their salad. Picked the same day, washed and in your plate, it tastes its best with a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil and a pinch of salt.
Could you find it at La Sosta?
Absolutely. We try to et their vegetables each time we can, following the seasons.
